Have a computer with HDMI out & want to use that HDMI output with a DisplayPort monitor? This Works.

If you have a computer with an HDMI out and want to use that HDMI output with a DisplayPort monitor, this product works.I replaced an older work computer that had to DP ports with a new Dell that had one DP port and one HDMI port. If you are reading this, you probably know that regular cables that work from DP on your computer to HDMI Monitors do not work the other way around. If you have a pc that has an HDMI output, you must use a powered converting device to make the computer's HDMI output compatible with a DP monitor input. Startech offers the gold standard, but it costs around $130 as of September 2025. The Startech may be better if you have a high-speed gaming rig or something similar, but it was way overkill for me.I needed something to use for office applications so that I could use my existing monitor setup. I am running a 24" monitor at 1920x1080 @ 60Hz with no issues. This is as slow as Christmas by gamer standards, but it's plenty good for email and spreadsheets.

Worked with one of two monitors

Worked with one of my two monitors. I'm guessing the one it didn't work with only supported an older DP protocol

    Needed for older monitor

Work supplied an external monitor for home use but it only had a displayport for high resolution use. The work PC only output HDMI. This cable was necessary to make that combination work.

    Ordered on amazon.sa (4K@60Hz)

I initially ordered a different (cheaper) brand cable, but it arrived faulty. So I decided to spend a little more for this cable, and so far the cable does exactly what it does. Flawlessly. I'm using it on my computer right now, and it delivers 1440p@120Hz (HDMI 2.0 from GPU to DP 1.2 on monitor). So it should work with the PS5.

I'm not sure why, but it works without USB power. Though I'm gonna keep it using USB power just in case. Hope it doesn't go out of production anytime soon :)
